Honored to Be a Finalist: BEAR’s Social Media Success Recognized by PRSA Houston

We are beyond excited to share that BEAR’s 2024 Social Media Annual Report has been named a finalist in the Social Media category for the 2025 PRSA Houston Excalibur Awards! This recognition is especially meaningful, as it celebrates the strategic and purpose-driven work we’ve done to grow BEAR’s digital presence and deepen its connection with the Houston community.

Being named a finalist means that our work will receive an award at this year’s gala—an achievement that reflects not only the metrics, but the mission behind the momentum.

A Record-Breaking Year for BEAR’s Social Media

In 2024, BEAR—Be A Resource for CPS Kids—saw truly transformative growth across all social platforms. With a mission rooted in supporting at-risk and CPS-involved children, it was critical that our digital storytelling matched the heart and impact of BEAR’s work. And we delivered:

431,652 total impressions – a 31.9% increase
26,131 total engagements – up 5.7%
5,115 link clicks – an 80.2% increase
Follower growth of 29.2% across all platforms
Instagram led the way with 876 new followers and 8,882 video views
LinkedIn stood out with a 13.6% engagement rate, the highest of all platforms
2,719 total posts/messages, with Instagram driving the majority

The data speaks volumes—but what we are most proud of is the intention behind each post, video, and caption. Every metric reflects our goal to not just grow numbers, but to grow awareness, build relationships, and strengthen support for BEAR’s mission.

Social Strategy with Purpose

This campaign wasn’t about going viral—it was about going deeper. We implemented platform-specific content strategies, tailored messaging to audience segments, and leaned into both storytelling and data to guide our efforts. Whether spotlighting BEAR's essential programs or community partnerships, our focus remained on building meaningful, lasting connections.
